ICB 2023 is the on-person event that is going to be organized in Kathmandu, Nepal at Hotel Himalaya. This conference is aimed to gather all professionals in the biotechnology section: students, professors, doctors, industrialists and entrepreneurs.

Prof. Dr. Hyun- Woung Shin
PhD., Professor at Soonchunhyang University, S. Korea
Hyun Woung Shin obtained a Ph.D. in Dept of Botany, advised by Professor Smith M. Celia at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA in 1996. He has held academic tenuatrac positions at the Soonchunhyang University where he is now a professor of Life Science and Biotechnology. His research interests are in determining how the structures of marine natural products relate to their biological benthos functions, and therefore encompass functional biosynthesis and ecology.
Additionally, he runs a research program exploring the antifouling activity at several costal sites, South Korea. He is a keen scuba diver, especially in the warm waters of Jeju Island. Recentely, he is in charge of the member of the National Science and Technology Advisory Council.
During his 34 years of Teaching and 33 Years of simultaneous Research, he has already supervised to 24 of the PhD students. Dr. SR Joshi has published 150 Research papers; Book Chapters: 39. He has been authored to 12 books. He has bagged two patents and numerous honors and merits too.
Some of his selected recognitions are:
- Felicitated by the then Prime Minister of India (late Rajiv Gandhi) for topping in Graduate Level examination of NEHU, 1986.
- Felicitated by NSS Cell of North Eastern Hill University in 1994 for valuable contributions and services to NSS related activities.
- Awarded Best speaker trophy by ISRO for the talk on “Role of Space Science and Technology in Science Journalism: Science communicators in the new age” at the Science Communicators Meet during 97th Indian Science Congress at University of Kerela, Trivandrum, Jan 2010.
Prof. Dr. Bijaya Pant
PhD., Professor at Tribhuvan University, Nepal
Professor and researcher with 20+ years of experience teaching courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has already supervised to 80 MSc theses and 8 Ph.D. dissertations. She has been an active Writer and co-authored three books on Orchid and Published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Recently she has been awarded with TWAS fellowship in 2022.
Prof. Pant has been the Director of Annapurna Research Center, Maitighar, Kathmandu since 2012. Nabil Science and Technology Awards of 2019 has been awarded to her by the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in recognition of her excellent works. She has been the PI for dozens of prestigious grants.
Prof. Dr. Tribikram Bhattarai

Prof. Dr. Janardan Lamichhane

Mr. Hari Bhakta Sharma is the President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). He served as the Sr. Vice President of CNI before he was elected as the President in March, 2016. Mr. Sharma is the Founder and Executive Director of one of leading pharmaceutical company in Nepal, Deurali-Janata Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.
